Postero’s pleasureful plates.

Local flavor, elevated.

For many, no conversation about Hendersonville is complete without a mention of the city’s food scene, which is remarkably advanced for its size. Indeed, there’s no shortage of outstanding eateries, but Postero is a standout among them all.

Tiffany from Hungry in Hendo and Laura from Carolina Epicurean teamed up to visit this Hendersonville staple on Thursday, April 3, with a video and article about the experience on their social media platforms.

Housed in a historic bank building smack-dab at Main Street and 4th Avenue, Postero strikes the perfect balance between a dressy date-night destination and an approachable noshery. It’s definitely a place to linger and enjoy.

For the record, Tiffany ordered the crispy fried flounder with Tuscan braised Savoy cabbage, cannellini beans and salsa verde, and Laura enjoyed the 8-ounce filet mignon, served with buttermilk whipped potatoes, griddled broccolini and “Postero steak” sauce. Nick, the camera guy, went with the braised beef — slow-cooked boneless beef short rib, with Chinese BBQ jus, crispy polenta spring roll, roasted baby carrots and horseradish pickle cabbage. The trio kicked things off with the beet & goat cheese (superb), and finished the night off with not one … not two … but three desserts — the panna cotta, warm chocolate tart, and dark chocolate pot de creme (be still my beating heart).

The vibe is welcoming, with high ceilings, exposed brick, and dramatic lighting. It has a modern, industrial aura without feeling cold. The menu can best be described as Southern comfort food with global inspiration—featuring fresh ingredients and impeccable service. The cocktail list is inventive without being stuffy, and the desserts are downright divine.

We are already planning our return…
